Educational games for kids with number rocks painted
Playing with painted stones is a fun way for children to learn to add and subtract. Children are sponges and if learning is with a game is very advisable and fun.
In my case, my child does not understand very well the concept of addition and subtraction, but I am convinced that after painting the stones with me and playing for a while, it is becoming easier and more fun. He loves it! Are you ready to have fun with this great educational craft?
The materials you need for this craft are:
- 23 stones
- 12 color markers for painting stones
- 1 black thinner marker
- 1 fine white marker
- Black, white and colored acrylic paints
- Wooden sticks or similar utensils
- Acrylic varnish
Step by step to make the addition and subtraction manuals
Before starting, cover the area with paper or plastic to avoid dirtying the surface where you are going to paint the stones. Put on clothes you do not mind getting dirty. Relax and enjoy this moment. Now you are ready to start!
1. Wash the stones
Wash the stones well for the paint to set.
2. Draw numbers and signs with markers.
To do this craft with the kids, you can draw the numbers first with a pencil. This way they can be guided when it comes to painting them and it will be easier for them.
If you want (because you do not have markers), you can do this craft with acrylic paints. Remember to draw them first with a pencil or marker.
3. Profiles with the marker
If you want to profile the stone, it will depend on the color of the stones of your choice. If the stone is dark it outlines with white, and if it is clear it outlines with a black marker. We painted them all in white so that Marcos could color the stones better.
4. Make the dots with the sticks
Once you have painted the numbers and the paint has dried, turn the stones around and behind each number paint the dots.
Wait for them to dry to paint the other slightly smaller color dots, use the same number color to make them.
5. Apply resistant acrylic varnish
For these crafts, in which children manipulate a lot with their hands, it is advisable to put at least 3 hands of varnish for the painting. It is important to wait for the drying time recommended by the manufacturer between layer and layer.
Now you have your math game!
We show you some ideas from the children section to encourage you to paint more little things like chocolate cookies or cars painted in stones to make a car race.
