How to paint a rock turtle?
We show you the steps to follow to realize a beautiful rock turtle with only these materials:
Materials for creating turtle on painted stones
- 6 stones
- White, yellow, orange and red acrylic paints
- Brushes
- Pencil and rubber
- Special white marker pen
- Varnish
- Hot glue or silicone
- A piece of wood
Steps for this DIY on painted stones
You will need to find 6 stones:
- 4 turtle paws
- 1 head
- 1 Shell
Wash the stones
Wash the stones to remove the dirt so that afterwards the paint grips better.
Painting with acrylic paints
First paint the yellow part of the center of the shell with the yellow paint. Without waiting for it to dry, put around orange paint fusing the two colors and continue with the red doing the same.
Clean the brush by rinsing it with water and drying it well with paper every time you change color.
Paint the legs in the same way. If the stones are dark, paint them before white so that the red paint stands out, it will be much more alive and better.
Draw with the pencil
Draw the carapace pattern with a soft pencil, make sure the paint is dry before drawing.
Profile with pen
Profiles with a special white marker by reviewing the drawing of the shell.
For the legs, I have drawn them directly with the marker. For this I have started from the edge making the contour first in circle and then I have filled the interior imitating the drawing of the skin of a turtle.
Where to place the turtle?
Use some piece of wood or bark from the field to place your turtle, you will look spectacular.
If you use a piece of wood you can paint it of a golden color or sand to imitate its nature. I’m sure you like the result!
How to stick the stones?
Glue the stones with a special glue. You can also use hot silicone but it will depend a bit on the surface you choose.
Apply varnish
It is important to apply acrylic varnish in your DIY to protect this powerful turtle, so you can enjoy your color for a long time and decorate your home with joy.
